Florence is the capital of the Italian region of Tuscany,with approximately 370,000 habitants. Florence lies in a basin formed by the hills of Careggi, Fiesole, Settignano, Arcetri, Poggio Imperiale and Bellosguardo. 

 

The official language in Florence is Italian. The euro is the official currency in Florence. There is only one Patron in Florence: St.John the Baptist.

As regards temperatures, July is the hottest month in Florence. Florence borders on humid subtropical and Mediterranean climates. Surrounded by hills in a river valley, Florence can be hot and humid from June to August. The wettest month is November with an average of 122mm of rain. The best time to visit Florence is in summer in July or August.
